AFTER VISIT SUMMARY · 08/28/2026 · Breast Surgery — new patient, results discussion
Reason for visit: Discussion of right breast core needle biopsy results.
Diagnoses discussed:
- Malignant neoplasm of right breast, upper outer quadrant (biopsy-proven invasive carcinoma, 08/26/2026).
What we discussed today:
- Your biopsy shows an invasive breast cancer, grade 2, measuring about 1.8 cm on imaging. The ultrasound of the lymph nodes under your arm did not show anything suspicious.
- Additional tests on the biopsy tissue (hormone receptors and HER2) are pending. These results help decide the treatment plan and are expected within about one week.
- Surgical options were introduced in general terms: breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) with sentinel lymph node biopsy, or mastectomy. A recommendation will be made once the receptor results are back and you have met with medical oncology.
- Family history reviewed: no first-degree relatives with breast or ovarian cancer reported.
Orders and referrals:
- Referral: Medical Oncology, community oncology practice — consultation. (Appointment scheduled 09/03/2026.)
- Return to Breast Surgery after medical oncology consultation to finalize surgical plan.
Instructions:
- Write down your questions and bring them to your appointments. A family member is welcome.
- You may request a second opinion at any time. Records can be released through the front desk or the patient portal.
- Nurse navigator contact route: portal message or the clinic main line.
