Registered clinical trials, as of September 8, 2026

Pulled from ClinicalTrials.gov on 2026-09-08 (registry data built 17:48 UTC). Registrations describe study plans; published results are linked separately below. Statuses reflect the registry on that date and may change. Each line links to the public record so it can be checked. Back to the summary

The two trials the summary rests on

Registry IDNameStatus on 2026-09-08What it is
NCT00310180TAILORxActive, not recruiting; completion listed 2030-09-30Node-negative; scores 11–25 randomized to endocrine therapy with or without chemotherapy. Results: Sparano 2018
NCT01272037RxPONDER (SWOG S1007)Active, not recruiting; completion listed 2027-01-08One to three positive nodes; scores 0–25 randomized the same way. Results: Kalinsky 2021

Registry IDNameStatus on 2026-09-08Why it matters here
NCT06786585Extended follow-up and biospecimen collection for TAILORx and RxPONDERNot yet recruiting; start listed 2025-06Longer follow-up of the two main trials, and tissue from women whose cancer came back, to study why recurrence happens despite treatment
NCT05879926OFSET (chemotherapy added to ovarian suppression plus endocrine therapy)Recruiting; last updated 2026-09-02Tests whether the chemotherapy benefit seen in premenopausal women in RxPONDER is really a chemotherapy effect or an effect of shutting down the ovaries. Does not apply to postmenopausal women, but it is the open question behind the age split
NCT07311122CUSTOM registry (Korea), women 50 or youngerNot yet recruiting; start listed 2026-01-01Real-world outcomes by score in younger women. Not Mom’s group
NCT02476786Endocrine treatment alone for elderly patients with a low recurrence scoreRecruiting; completion listed 2032-07-31Whether older women with a low score can be treated with endocrine therapy alone, without surgery as the first step. A different question from Mom’s, but it shows the score being used before surgery

Not found

We found no registered randomized trial, as of this date, that tests chemotherapy against no chemotherapy in postmenopausal women with scores of 26 or higher. That is the gap described in the summary’s open questions. This finding is limited to the three searches described below.

How this was checked

Three searches on ClinicalTrials.gov (“Oncotype DX” AND breast; “recurrence score” AND breast AND chemotherapy; TAILORx OR RxPONDER) returned 19 adult-eligible records. The six above were selected by hand for relevance to the question; the rest concern DCIS, pre-surgery treatment, or other tests. Reviewed by Sarah Kiselycznyk · September 10, 2026.
